EkKamKr is a two-sided gig marketplace mobile application that brings together customers seeking everyday services — gardening, cleaning, repairs — and workers looking for local earning opportunities. The platform handles everything from discovery and hiring to payments and trust.

Overview

The Challenge

Customers had no reliable, location-aware way to find skilled local workers for on-demand tasks.
Workers lacked a structured platform to discover nearby gig opportunities and apply meaningfully.
No shared trust layer — ratings, verification, and reputation — existed to connect strangers safely.
Payment and communication were fragmented, with no end-to-end workflow for hiring.

The Objective

Build a scalable, mobile-first marketplace for both Android and iOS from a single codebase.
Introduce a fair credit-based application system that charges workers only upon being hired.
Integrate secure digital payments, real-time messaging, and push notifications end-to-end.
Provide administrators full visibility and control over users, gigs, credits, and transactions.

The platform was designed around three user roles — Customer, Worker, and Admin — each with a distinct set of capabilities tailored to their needs.

Scope of Work

Location-Based Gig Discovery

Customers find workers nearby and workers browse gigs within their area using Google Maps Platform integration and proximity filters.

Gig Posting &
Management

Customers post gigs with full details — description, location, budget, timeline — and manage them through every stage from posted to completed.

Worker
Search

Customers can search and filter the worker directory by service category, skills, and geolocation to find the right person for any task.

Credit-Based
Applications

Workers apply for gigs using platform credits. Unlike traditional models, credits are deducted only when a worker is hired — ensuring fairness at every step.

In-App
Messaging

Customers and workers communicate directly through real-time in-app chat to discuss gig details, schedules, and expectations before and after hiring.

Secure
Payments

All gig payments flow through PCI-compliant infrastructure, with payment confirmation, transaction tracking, and earnings history for workers.

Profile Verification & Badges

Workers submit identity documents for admin review. Verified workers receive a visible trust badge on their profile, increasing customer confidence.

Reviews

Firebase Cloud Messaging powers real-time push notifications for gig updates, new applications, hiring decisions, messages, and payment confirmations.
